The Executive Committee Experience: Two Students Meet TotalEnergies' Executives

07/17/2023

As part of its commitment to improving employability for young people, TotalEnergies took part in the CEO for a week project by opening the doors of its Executive Committee to Leïla Mauline and Steeve Cheng, two undergraduates at Paris Dauphine University. An opportunity for the Company to reinforce its determination to help young people enter the working world, and remind the key role they play in moving towards a sustainable multi-energy world.

Two students at the heart of Executive Committee: a look back at our participation in the "CEO for a week" project

The CEO for a week project was initiated by Inès Mechoucha, a former student at Paris Dauphine University - PSL. It offers students from the Paris Dauphine Foundation's Equal Opportunities program the chance to spend a week shadowing the Executive Committee at one of France's top 40 companies.

The aim is to give students an insight into the working environment within a major organization and develop their network. This immersive experience in a CAC 40 company allows students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and gain a clearer understanding of its high-level functions.

Of the 25 students in the program, Leïla Mauline and Steeve Cheng spent five days at TotalEnergies working closely alongside the Company's executives and their teams. What did they learn from the experience? Watch the video for the answer.

TotalEnergies: an employer committed to young people and employability

As a forward-looking organization, our Company recognizes the important role that talented young individuals can play in innovating, leading transformation and meeting today's challenges. We offer a wide range of opportunities for young people, whether students, recent graduates or experienced young professionals.

Every year, over 2,000 young people across France join our Company on work-study schemes and develop their skills in international and multidisciplinary teams. This wide range of profiles allows our Company to nurture a stimulating environment and encourage interaction between every generation.

Our graduate programs offer young recruits on permanent contracts the prospect of quickly growing their skills. Launched in 2022, the first OneTech Graduate Program will enable 60 young professionals to spend two years discovering all the Company's energies, especially renewable energies.

We are focused on fostering dialogue with young people, whether they are external to the Company, through forums, roundtables, workshops, site visits or participation in scientific projects, or internal, by giving them the opportunity to express their views and talk with our executives about the key issues relating to our activities and operations, such as the One Young Campus organized in 2022.

Let's not forget the initiatives spearheaded by the TotalEnergies Foundation around the world to reach out to young people, especially the most vulnerable. These initiatives include creating the L'Industreet campus in France, which provides free training to young people aged 18 to 30 for highly sought-after professions in the industrial sector.
